UQ Communications Acquires Mobile WiMAX Radio License
A license for mobile WiMAX wireless station has been obtained
Tokyo, August 27, 2008: UQ Communications received today a license to operate radio base stations for broadband mobile wireless access systems that use the 2.5 GHz band (mobile WiMAX), from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' Kanto Bureau of Communications. The wireless base stations will be set up at locations throughout the Tokyo metropolitan area. UQ will acquire radio station licenses sequentially, with the goal of starting trial services in Tokyo's 23 wards, as well as the Yokohama and Kawasaki areas, at the end of February, 2009.
