UQ Communications Acquires Mobile WiMAX Radio License for the Chugoku region

TOKYO, May 25, 2009 - UQ Communications Inc. has acquired a license for the Chugoku region, to operate radio base stations for a new broadband mobile wireless access system (mobile WiMAX) that uses the 2.5 GHz spectrum band. The license was issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' Chugoku Bureau of Communications on May 25.

UQ acquires its Chugoku regional wireless license as it continues expanding its WiMAX service area nationwide, targeting to achieve government pre-designated coverage milestones by the current fiscal year end.
