UQ Communications Broadens WiMAX Services to Offer

"UQ Wi-Fi" on Narita Express E259 Series Trains

TOKYO, September 2, 2009 - UQ Communications Inc. today announced it is expanding its 'UQ WiFi' public wireless LAN area to cover the new Narita Express E259 Series passenger trains operated by Japan Railways, starting October 1st.

UQ has developed the WiMAX/Wi-Fi repeaters installed on E259 Series trains, together with cooperation from KYOCERA Corporation and Japan Railways for device manufacturing and testing. UQ expects this service enhancement, along with the planned WiMAX-WiMAX repeater currently under development, will provide users with more convenient, high-speed, mobile broadband access on trains going forward.

UQ Communications will continue to enhance WiMAX service offerings and expand coverage areas as we strive to fully satisfy customer needs through UQ WiMAX.

	Toei Subway	Platforms at the following 101 stations: Asakusa Line (All stations except Oshiage station) Mita Line (All stations except Meguro, Shirokanedai, Shirokane Takanawa) Shinjuku Line (All stations except for Shinjuku station） Oedo Line (All stations)
Airport	Public Space	Public space for following 19 airports(): Shinchitose, Asahikawa, Hakodate, Aomori, Sendai, Niigata, Toyama, Komatsu, Chubu International, Osaka International (Itami), Kobe, Hiroshima, Takamatsu, Kochi, Fukuoka, Kita-Kyushu, Kumamoto, Kagoshima　and Miyazaki.
