UQ Communications Announces Achievement of 5,000 Base Stations

― UQ installs Base Stations in 378 municipalities across Japan, and covers all the capital cities of 6 Prefectures in Tohoku and 4 Prefectures in Shikoku ―
TOKYO, January 25, 2010 - UQ Communications Inc.(Headquarter: Minato-ku Tokyo; President: Takashi Tanaka) promotes installing base stations across Japan for realizing "Internet via WiMAX everywhere and at anytime".
UQ Communications today announces that the number of base stations reached 5,000; moved up their original construction plan.
Though 4,000 base stations would be installed by the end of F.Y.2009 in original construction plan, UQ revised the plan in last November for installing 6,000 base stations by the end of F.Y.2009.
At this time, the number of license acquisition reaches 6,559, and UQ has installed base stations in 378 municipalities. (Please see details in attached sheet for covered municipalities as of January 22.)
UQ Communications also announces that its UQ WiMAX service area has been enriched in the center of Aomori, Morioka, Akita, Yamagata, Fukushima, Kofu, Tokushima and Kochi, and UQ covers all the capital cities of 6 Prefectures in Tohoku and 4 Prefectures in Shikoku.
Moreover, UQ Communications will continue to install for covering all the capital cities by the end of F.Y.2009.
