UQ Communications Announces New Rate Plan: "UQ Step" Two-tiered Flat Rate Plan

Lowest mobile internet monthly charge from 380 yen up to maximum 4,980 yen

TOKYO, December 17, 2009 - UQ Communications Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Takashi Tanaka) today announced that it will start a new two-tiered pricing structure, "UQ Step", from Friday, December 18, 2009.

"UQ Step" offers WiMAX Internet service at the lowest basic monthly charge* in the mobile data communications industry, and meets user needs where frequency or volume of use varies month to month.

UQ`s service plans are also expected to be attractive to first-time mobile Internet users as there is no long-term contract obligation. Users have the option of selecting "UQ Step" plan initially and later switching to "UQ Flat" plan based on usage, without additional charges.

Based on this pricing structure change, the basic plan for MVNOs will be reflected accordingly. Please refer to the UQ homepage for details.

UQ Communications is striving to offer new internet experiences, as we continue to enhance WiMAX service offerings, and expand WiMAX coverage areas.
