UQ Communications Announces Expansion of WiMAX MVNOs to Power Company Affiliates

STNet and Kyushu Telecommunication Network start to provide WiMAX Service, in addition to K-Opticom, Chubu Telecommunications and Energia Communications


TOKYO, June 23, 2011 - UQ Communications Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Akio Nozaka) positively makes wide range of WiMAX service provided by several MVNOs based on UQ's Open Model since start of commercial WiMAX service in July 2009.


  At this time, Power company affiliates including K-Opticom Corporation (Headquarters : Kita-ku, Osaka), Chubu Telecommunications Co., Inc.(Headquarters : Naka-ku, Nagoya) and Energia Communications Inc.(Headquarters : Naka-ku, Hiroshima) provide WiMAX service as MVNO. UQ Communications today announces that STNet Inc.(Headquarters : Takamatsu) and Kyushu Telecommunication Network Co., Inc.(Headquarters : Chuo-ku, Fukuoka) start to provide WiMAX service in addition to existing 3 power company affiliates.


  As a result, the number of WiMAX MVNOs reached 55, including 5 power company affiliates, and various MVNO provides WiMAX service for more convenience.


  UQ Communications will make effort to provide enrich service and expanding area for customer satisfaction, and will promote open network for realizing an affluent society.


UQ Communications will continue to offer new internet experiences, enhanced WiMAX service offerings, and expand area coverage
