UQ Communications signs Memorandum of Agreement with YTL of Malaysia for Global WiMAX Corporation


TOKYO, July 7, 2011 - UQ Communications Inc. announced that it has signed memorandum of agreement (MOA) with a Malaysian WiMAX operator YTL Communications Sdn Bhd to expand each company's collaboration on WiMAX business development.


Under the MOA, UQ and YTL Communications plan to collaborate on business and technical aspects to create emer WiMAX ecosystem globally. With UQ conducting a WiMAX2 field test on July 6th and 7th, influencing and leading WiMAX2 development is also one of the MOA objectives. In addition, each party aims to start the necessary process to promote WiMAX international roaming among operators worldwide.


UQ Communications will continue to enhance WiMAX service offerings and expand coverage areas as we strive to fully satisfy customer needs through UQ WiMAX.
